About

Jesse Bailey, LCSW, LAC

My Story

I grew up in a small town in the Midwest before moving to Colorado. I spent several years doing mission work in India, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Uganda, Malaysia, Taiwan and elsewhere before God reawakened my passion for counseling and called me to become a therapist. I really like pizza, people, books, DIY projects, traveling, and adventure (not necessarily in that order).

Before starting a private practice, I worked in medical social work and community mental health, serving those with severe mental illness and addiction. I have my Master’s in Social Work, am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Addictions Counselor, and am trained in EMDR.

My Passion

I am passionate about helping people process their stories so that they can move forward towards cultivating the life that God has created for them. I firmly believe that God invites us into deeper healing through which we can experience the abundant life Jesus talked about. I am truly honored to be able to work with the Holy Spirit to heal people’s hearts, and I count it a real blessing to be able to do this work.

My Style

I am conversational and relaxed in my approach. I focus on developing clients’ awareness of their feelings and underlying beliefs, so they can learn skills to cultivate emotional health and maturity. I help my clients develop greater curiosity and understanding of why they act and feel the way they do and learn to ask themselves hard questions to make connections between their past experiences and current thoughts, beliefs, and behavior. Then as they apply increased self-awareness and healthy coping skills to their life and relationships they see real changes and growth in their day-to-day experiences and interactions.
